Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, (Formerly known as SNR Sons College) is one among the most renowned Arts and Science Educational Institutions in the country, where excellence is a tradition. Sri Ramakrishna College (SR-CAS), though affiliated to Bharathiar University, became Autonomous in 2004. It is autonomous, in the sense that it is empowered to frame its own course of studies and adopt innovative methods of teaching and evaluation. The Institution is a noble venture by the SNR Sons Charitable Trust, one of the leading Pioneer Philanthropists of Coimbatore.
Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science Coimbatore established in the year 1987 by the SNR Sons Charitable Trust is one of the 17 institutions managed by the trust. SNR Sons Charitable Trust has a reputation of four and half decades of education and medical services. Seventeen institutions consisting of Engineering, Polytechnic, Arts and Science, Dental and Paramedical colleges in addition to Higher Secondary Schools are managed by the trust catering to more than 15000 students mentored by 3000 faculty. The trust has been successfully and significantly catering to social causes of society focusing on Health Care, Education and Service.
SNR Sons Charitable Trust was founded in the year 1970 by the illustrious sons of Sri. S. N. Rangasamy Naidu, who was an ardent devotee of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. The trust was founded on 9 February 1970 in order to fulfill the dreams of a great philanthropist and a man of vision Late Sri. S. N. Rangaswamy Naidu, by his four sons, namely, Late Sri Chinnasamy Naidu, Late Sri.P.R.Ramaswami Naidu, Late Sri.R.Doraiswami Naidu and Late Sevaratna.Dr.R.Venkatesalu Naidu. Following the Principles of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa’s Philosophy of ‘to God through man’, all the institutions started by the Trust bear the name of the Holy Sage. Proud of their mission as early pioneers, they worked with single-minded devotion and total dedications have contributed in a large measure to remove ignorance and disease, especially from the poor by providing them with education and medical relief.
